KeyBank filed a Notice of Data Breach with the Attorney General of Massachusetts
On February 11, 2025, KeyBank filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Massachusetts.
Data compromised: names, addresses, birthdates, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, and account numbers.
Key Bank does business in the following states: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.
Key Bank Services: Personal banking, small business banking, wealth management, business and institutional banking, credit & debit card issuing, amd more.
If you have a personal or business bank account with Key Bank, your identity and bank account records are now in the hands of cybercriminals. They have the opportunity to open credit accounts in your name, potentially drain your bank accounts of funds, and sell your data to other criminals for profit.

Change your password at the bank
Sign up for 2-Step Authentication using an Authenticator app on your phone
Do not use text messaging for 2-Step Authentication
Use a Password Manager to generate and store a long and complex password
If a stored credit or debit card was compromised, cancel the card and get a replacement. Update any recurring payments associated with the new card
Monitor you card and bank statements for unauthorized charges. Look for out of area charges or small amount charges at unfamiliar merchants.
File disputes with your card issuers to recover funds
Ensure your browsers, email apps, social media apps, computers, and phones have the latest updates installed
